Terms and Conditions
We guarantee to replace or refund any item that does not meet with your complete satisfaction. All we ask is that the item is returned to us within 14 days, unused and in its original packaging together with proof of purchase. Pierced earrings, software, personalised and perishable items, as well as hygiene-sensitive items including pillows, mattress-toppers and duvets may not be returned unless faulty. This does not affect your statutory rights.
Under the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000 you have a statutory right to cancel your order and receive a full refund, apart from items personalised for you. You may cancel your order up to, and including, the seventh day after receipt.

Delivery Information
Please allow 14-28 days for delivery.
We can deliver to the Channel Islands but are obliged to levy an administration charge equivalent to the amount of VAT that would otherwise be refunded. Regrettably we are unable to export to Eire.
Postage & Packing charges are per delivery address. We will add a £4.95 administrative charge for each additional delivery address.
Heavy or over-sized items requiring special delivery (available Mon-Fri only) attract a supplementary delivery charge and are marked with the following symbols:
= £15.00 per item to all areas
= £30.00 per item, UK mainland
£55.00 per item to N.Ireland.
£75.00 per item to Scottish Highlands & UK Islands.
These additional costs will be calculated and displayed on the order summary page at checkout.
Regrettably, red lorry items cannot be delivered to BFPO addresses.
Red lorry items may be returned at the time of delivery without incurring any additional charge. If subsequently you wish to return the item, a collection charge will be incurred which is currently the same rate as the additional delivery charge.
Any items received damaged must be notified within 5 days of receipt.
The company does not pay return postage. Returned parcels remain the customer’s responsibility until safely received by us. Additional parcel insurance is recommended when returning items valued at over £30.
Safe Place Delivery
If we’re delivering a package via our specialist carrier we can ask them to leave your package somewhere safe if you’re out. Please specify eg: in garage, shed or with a neighbour. However, this service is not offered by Royal Mail.
Price Policy
Every item is described as accurately as possible and represents excellent value for money. The correct price is that which is displayed on this website, at the time that we receive your application, save in the case of a mistake where a pricing error is discovered or for reasons beyond our reasonable control, e.g. alterations to the rate of value added tax. The correct price will be confirmed to you in the Order Acknowledgement Letter which will be posted to you immediately after we accept your order. If the correct price is higher than the price displayed on the website, you may return the goods within our 14 day approval, in new condition.
We reserve the right to adjust the VAT element if this changes from 17.5%
Payment Policy
If you are paying by credit card, please note that your card will only be debited as your individual items are despatched.
Returns Policy
We guarantee to replace or refund any item that does not meet with your complete satisfaction. All we ask is that the item is returned to us within 14 days, unused and in its original packaging with all original documentation.
If we find that the product has not been returned to us in fully resaleable condition we reserve the right to refuse a refund on the item, or deduct up to 25% of the original selling price from the refund amount.
Once the packaging has been opened on the following products, for reasons of hygiene and safety we are unable to refund or exchange them unless they are faulty. Pierced earrings, software, DVDs, self-assembled furniture, personalised and perishable items as well as hygiene-sensitive items, including pillows, mattress toppers and duvets, may not be returned unless faulty. This guarantee does not affect your statutory rights.
We will refund your original delivery charge when a product is faulty or damaged but not when a product is simply unwanted.
We do not charge for returns except for unwanted purchases of heavy or oversized items identified in the catalogue with red lorry symbols, where we reserve the right to make a charge of up to £75 to cover the collection cost.
Our usual refund policy does not apply to personalised items which cannot be returned or exchanged unless faulty.
None of the above conditions affect your statutory rights when goods are faulty or not as described.

Clearance and Promotions
Clearance products and promotions are subject to availability and are not an indication of availability. Offers may be changed or withdrawn without notice by Scotts & Co at any time. We reserve the right to cancel a promotion / reject redemption of a promotional code when stock runs out or when the total value of the promotional codes already exceeds a certain financial value.
Flat Packed Furniture
Check the contents against the instructions enclosed. Once assembly has commenced, flat packed furniture is non-returnable. This does not affect your statutory rights.
Order Acceptance
We may not be able to accept your order, or part of your order, due to one of the following reasons:
- Authorisation of your payment failed
- We made a pricing or product description error
Prize Draw Terms and Conditions
Expert Verdict quarterly prize draw terms and conditions.
- This free prize draw is open to residents of England, Scotland or Wales aged 18 years or over.
- No purchase is necessary, to enter you must register your email address using our “Email me” function on our website www.expertverdict.com
- This prize draw is common to companies within the Scotts & Co group of companies and may be offered across other Scotts & Co group promotions.
- Employees of Scotts & Co group of companies and their families are excluded.
- A draw will take place every quarter from 1st July 2008 until further notice. The winner will be drawn at random from the valid entries received by us in each quarter. The first winning entry will be drawn on 1st July 2008 and a further winning entry drawn on the 1st of every 3rd month thereafter until further notice.
- Entries must be received by 23:59 on the last day of each quarter to be entered into that quarters draw. Entry is strictly limited to one entry per person for the prize draw.
- The winner will be notified by email within 7 days of the draw taking place. The notification will include details on how the prize can be claimed.
- Entry to the prize draw can be made by completing the official form online (Email me link) or on plain paper, stating your name, address, postcode, date of birth and daytime telephone number to Quarterly Prize Draw, Scotts & Co, Cotswold House, 1 Crompton Road, Groundwell, Wiltshire, SN25 5AW.
- The prize draw winner’s name and county address will be available from Winner’s List – Quarterly Prize Draw, Scotts & Co, Cotswold House, 1 Crompton Road, Groundwell, Wiltshire, SN25 5AW provided a SAE is enclosed.
- The prize will be a £500 voucher to spend on the Expert Verdict website.
- There is no cash alternative to the stated prize. Promoters reserve the right to offer a similar prize, or a prize of equal or greater value, if the stated prize is unavailable.
- The judges’ decision is final. No correspondence will be entered into.
