With so many of you choosing to self-isolate, the same few questions about deliveries keep cropping up, so we thought it would be a good idea to provide some quick answers. Q. WHAT IF I DON’T WANT TO OPEN THE DOOR TO RECEIVE MY DELIVERY?
A. That’s fine. All of our carriers now offer a contact-free delivery process. When you place your order, you can also specify a safe place where we can leave your package. Provide us with an email address or mobile number and we can alert you when your delivery is on its way.
Q. WILL I BE ASKED TO SIGN FOR DELIVERIES AT THE DOOR AND CAN I REFUSE TO SIGN?
A. Many of our packets are delivered by the Royal Mail and therefore don’t require a signature. Those delivered by our Couriers no longer require a signature. Where a safe place has not been notified, couriers will still knock on the door but rather than asking you to sign, they may ask for your name, so that this can be input into their hand-held device.
Q. AM I AT RISK OF CATCHING THE CORONAVIRUS FROM HANDLING A PARCEL?
A. “There is currently no evidence that you can catch coronavirus from parcels and letters or from food. Viruses like coronavirus cannot live for very long outside the body.” – BBC Website (March 2020).
If there is any such risk it seems slight. You should in any case wash your hands after handling any package received, just to be safe.
Q. ARE SCOTTS OF STOW AND OTHER SCOTTS & CO. COMPANIES STILL DELIVERING WITHOUT DELAYS?
A. At present, 80% of all orders are being delivered within 5-7 days. As demand now appears to be increasing rapidly, there is a chance that certain of our most popular products may be in short supply. We will do everything we can to maintain continuity of supply to our customers through the coming months.
